In June of 2018, I embarked on a pilgrimage to SpiritQuest, a spiritual retreat center, deep jungles of Iquitos, Peru, to seek the healing and guidance of Mother Ayahuasca. After receiving deep healing during the first three ceremonies, I expressed my gratitude to the medicine, and in the spirit of reciprocity, I asked the Spirit of Ayahuasca, “What is my path to servitude?” In classic Ayahuasca fashion she simply responded, “Scared Geometry, Multiples of Nine.” The answer seemed cryptic that night, but I knew the answers would reveal themselves when the time was right. A quick Amazon search for books on sacred geometry the next day made it clear that BioGeometry (*Apollo, please link the word BioGeometry to my blog post and offerings centered around BioGeometry*) , the study of the relationship between scalar energy and shapes, particularly shapes that are resonant with the vibrational quality of the Divine Center of Creation, AKA the Zero-Point in Quantum Physics. This still left questions around what She meant by “Multiples of Nine,” but I knew the answer would present itself in due time.
Approximately one year later I organized a state-side reunion for SpiritQuest Alumni at the Dao House in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. Initially, I chose the location, based on the beautiful log cabin-style lodge, surrounded by 360 degrees of picturesque mountain views. I thought the “Dao House” was just a cute name. What I didn’t realize, was that the lodge was owned by a world-renowned Daoist Priest, Yung Xian Tseng (or Master Chen, as we affectionately refer to him). It became immediately clear that Master Chen was an encyclopedia of spiritual wisdom, and was also a master practitioner of Yi-Jing consultations (AKA I-Ching, pronounced, “ee-ching”). The Yi Jing is an ancient body of wisdom which combines Chinese Astrology, numerology, and insights from the ancient text, “I-Ching, the Book of Changes.”
Many members of the SpiritQuest retreat received readings from Master Chen, and raved about the astounding accuracy of the readings, and the value of the advice contained in their consultations. The readings were so profound that one member of the retreat, Jared Lim and his associates convinced Master Chen to come out of retirement and lead an 8-day “Dao-Mastery” intensive where participants would learn the secrets of the Dao and learn to understand and provide Yi Jing consultations for prospective clients.
The event felt cost-prohibitive and I was on the fence about participating. My friend Yuan from the retreat encouraged me to receive a Yi Jing from Master Chen. I decided to give it a chance. Within the first five minutes of the reading, I was moved to tears. I felt like Chen had peered into the depths of my soul and revealed aspects of my life that I had not previously revealed to anyone. I was clear to me that the Yi Jing was no joke. I was sold on the magic of this ancient art, but at one point during the reading, Master Chen mentioned “multiples of nine.” In that moment my mind flashed back to that night in the maloca, where Mother Ayahuasca had said whispered the same words to me. It was at that point I realized I’d found the missing piece to the puzzle around my path to servitude. I knew that I had to learn this information and share the gift of the Yi Jing with the world.
Five months later in November 2019, I was on a flight destined for Vancouver, B.C., unsure of what the future would hold, but knowing that I was on the right path. The eight days were intense, and exhausting. Each day began at 6AM and concluded at 11PM. During that time, I filled an entire composition notebook with Master Chen’s teachings. I entered the week along with 12 others, mostly strangers, whom I now consider my brothers and sisters that I keep in close contact with.
Since my time in Vancouver, following the Dao and Yi Jing has transformed my life, and become an integral part of my morning spiritual practices. The Yi Jing has provided invaluable guidance on which days, months, and years are most conducive to travel and which days travel should be avoided, new business ventures, strengthening existing friendships and relationships, as well as pursuing new romantic relationships. It helps me determine which days are best for goal-setting and which days are best for reviewing and managing my finances. The Yi Jing has enabled me to help countless numbers of family members, friends, and clients, with guidance on health, wealth, and relationships.
